Online Skill Games Tournaments and Competitions

There are a large amount of online skills games competitions and tournaments available on the Internet. They all have different rules and elements of play. Some sites are free while others require an entrance fee. Some work on a daily points system in which the person with the most points at the end of every day wins a prize such as an ipod or a voucher while others offer cash payouts to whoever wins a set amount of matches or tournaments. There are many different ways to play and win but generally the types of competitions that require entry fees have the largest jackpots and prizes.

Although some sites are over 18s only, most allow under 18s to take part in competitions as long as they have their guardian's consent basically because most skills games are games that are aimed at younger people. A lot of skills games are also available on regular games consoles such as the Xbox which means that a large amount of people worldwide have skills in these games before even entering a competition or tournament. Although most competitions have prizes, a lot of the attraction is based on being seen as a high ranked player and bragging rights tend to be favored even above financial gain. There are so many skills games out there that it is easy for anyone to find a skill game that is perfect for them.

Some games take time and most are based solely on skill. Some of the arcade skills games are really quick to play and so a tournament could be completed in a day while a chess skills game could potentially take a lot longer to end. Some of these skills games have a certain number of pre-determined rounds in which a person has to go through in order to reach the finals. Points and prizes are often rewarded to the winners of single head-to-head matches also. The fact that the players are going against each other and not the organizers raises the attraction and accessibility of skill games over casino games. Some casino games tournaments claim to be skill games but they are not as they are mostly based on chance rather than skill.
